ROASTERY SUPERVISOR & EVENTS LEAD

Join Our Social Enterprise and Make a Real Impact! At The Colombian Coffee Company, we’re passionate about sourcing, roasting, and brewing high-quality single origin coffee—all while supporting coffee-growing communities in Colombia.

We’re seeking a motivated Supervisor to help oversee our Roastery - and be part of a socially conscious, exciting coffee project.

As part of this dual role, you will also oversee our trade at events and festivals. We are seeking a creative individual who can design and implement our strategy relating to:

  • Latin Vinyl and other music events in our Soho branch.

  • Our café stall that trades at festivals in the summer

Both aspects of the role will allow for plenty of professional and creative growth, and we are looking for an individual looking to grow their skills in Speciality Coffee, management and creative events management.

What You'll Do In The Roastery:

  • Work as a skilled specialty barista, delivering exceptional, friendly service to every customer.

  • Maintain top-notch cleanliness and presentation of our Roastery space

  • Ensure all SOPs are followed to maintain quality, consistency, and food safety compliance.

  • Comfortable managing a small team of staff working in the “production” area of our Roastery. You will be responsible for receiving stock, organising internal deliveries to our other sites, and ensuring retail packaging stock is managed correctly.

  • Manage weekly stock checks and monthly inventory across the Roastery, reporting to management.

  • Help train new team members and support the team during busy periods and covers.

  • Collaborate with management to continuously improve operations.

What You’ll Do At Events

  • Responsible for organising a monthly Latin Vinyl night at our Soho branch, which includes:

  • Organising the roster of DJs and performers according to the event’s theme.

  • Liaise with the marketing team to produce material for the event.

  • Ensure that all necessary alcohol and events licensing is in place prior to the event.

  • Purchase all stock and build the rota for the event.

  • Set up, manage the team, and close the event each month.

  • Build an inclusive and groovy Latin Vinyl night in Soho over time!

And Festivals

  • Organise the crews according to the needs of the business.

  • Liaise with festival organisers to provide all necessary info for us to trade.

  • Apply for new festivals and events.

  • Develop our festival concept with the Project Founder so that we can continue to grow both the “food & beverage” and “production” elements.

Where You May Work:

The role will predominantly be at our Roastery at 13 New Goulston Street, but occasionally you may be asked to support with shifts at our other London locations, including:

  • Borough Market Stall (London Bridge/Borough)

  • Flat Iron Square Café (Borough/London Bridge)

  • Soho Cafe (Greek Street, Soho)

  • In addition to participating in summer festivals and one-off events all over the country.

Why Join Us?

  • Gain hands-on experience in coffee roasting, cupping, and the international coffee trade.

  • Potential for a unique chance to travel to Colombia and engage with our social projects and our café in Bogota.

  • 28 days Paid Holiday (pro-rata).

  • Unlimited high-quality coffee; fuel your passion!

  • Wellness perks including yoga classes or a monthly Wellness Allowance.

  • Spanish lessons to deepen your connection with the coffee community.

Who We're Looking For:

  • At least 2 years experience as a Barista, ideally within the Specialty Coffee sector, at least 1 year in a Supervising or Managerial role, and with experience working at festivals or in a planning role for events/festivals.

  • Confident with dialling-in the grinder and skilled latte art is a big plus!

  • EXCEPTIONAL attention to cleanliness and café presentation.

  • Knowledge of Food Safety procedures; Level 2 Food Safety certificate ideal but not essential.

  • Excellent multitasking and time-management skills in fast-paced environments.

  • Natural leader who inspires and supports the team by example.

  • Self-starter who takes initiative without prompting and thrives under pressure.

  • Willingness to work early mornings, late nights, and busy weekends - weekend availability is imperative!

  • Passionate about specialty coffee and supporting ethical business practices.

  • Personal Alcohol License-holder

  • Category B drivers license with experience driving larger vehicles such as vans.

Personality Traits That Fit:

  • Friendly, approachable, and great at building relationships.

  • Creative problem-solver who manages challenges calmly.

  • Entrepreneurial mindset always looking to grow the business and forge new connections.
